The
Cocker Spaniel is a medium sized dog which comes in two varieties,
American and English. It is a compact dog breed with long ears
and round feet. The Cocker Spaniel can be both long and short
haired which usuall comes in fawn, white, black and variations of
these.

Spaniel Temperament
The
Cocker Spaniel is renowned for being an energetic and excitable dog.
They are extremely lovable, affectionate and great with kids. Cocker
Spaniels do need gentle yet firm training but are generally very
obedient dogs. They are sociable with strangers and love attentions.
Cocker Spaniels make great family pets as they are so relaxed around
children and fun loving.
Cocker Spaniel Exercise
The
Cocker Spaniel is a very energetic dog and enjoys as much exercise as
possible. Cocker Spaniels are reccommended for owners who have the time
to take them on long, brisk walks at least once daily. They should have
a large garden to run around in and should always be
entertained.
Cocker
Spaniel Health
The
Cocker Spaniel is generally a healthy dog although all breeds have some
inherited health issues. The Cocker Spaniel sometimes suffers from
Night blindess, a condition which causes the dog to see very poorly in
dim light and the dark. Cocker Spaniels can occassionally have kidney
problems which can sometimes prove fatal for the dog. If you buy from a
registered breeder they will alert you of any known conditions in that
blood line.
