WEST HIGHLAND TERRIER PUPPIES - Here we have 2 girls and 2 boys, ready and waiting to go!! They have been home-reared, so they are used to everyday noises and have been handled by children. They have excellent temperaments are very playful and lively. The puppies have been vaccinated, wormed and had flea treatment. They can be seen with Mum and Grandma, they have a three generation pedigree certificate and vaccination card, feeding card, information leaflet, food and bowls to take them to their new homes. They will make an excellent companion for anyone, who is looking for a new friend. West Highland White Terriers belong to the terrier group and are today used as companions, in obedience trials and in the show-ring. The beautiful, shaggy coat, button nose and small, erect ears give this breed a cute and cuddly image and they only come in a white colour. Their bodies are compact and their heads have a fox-like appearance. The coat, however, is their hallmark: a double coat, the outer coat being straight, hard hair and the under one being soft and plentiful. Their movement is free, straight and easy. Their lifespan is 9 - 15 years. They need an average of 60 – 80 minutes a day exercise. The average height for this breed is minimum 25 cm and maximum 28 cm and that is for male and females. Westies are intelligent but can be rather naughty so remain consistent in their training. West Highlands are cheeky, confident and affectionate characters. They are alert and courageous, making them good guard dogs. They can also be cunning and stubborn but are totally loyal to their families. They make excellent playmates for children both indoors and outdoors because they can withstand rough play and get on reasonably well with others of their breed. However, they must be introduced to cats when they are young as they will chase them once they get older.
