Bichon Frise puppies will grow to 9.5 to 11.5 inches tall and will weigh between 7 and 12 pounds. These dogs have a medium sized body and they are slightly longer than they are tall.

This guide to Bichon Frise will tell you a little more about their appearance and character.

The Bichon Frise has a sassy expression and has black eyes with halos of dark skin surrounding them. Bichons' ears droop and they are covered in long white hair. They have a strong stance because of their arched necks.

Bichon Frise are always white, but you might find that some of them can sometimes have shades of buff, cream or apricot around their ears or body. If an adult dog has colouration then it will be heavily penalised in the show ring.

The coat of Bichon Frises is completely unique. The undercoat is dense and soft, the guard hairs are curlier and much coarser. When a Bichon Frise is trimmed the coat should follow the lines of his body and keep the characteristic poufy appearance of puppies.

Bichon Frises have playful and affectionate personalities and are well suited to living in an apartment. Some do not like being touched suddenly so they are not suitable for families with small children.

This dog needs to spend a lot of time with people, so if you spend most of your time at work then this is not the most suitable breed of dog for you.
