Huskies were originally bred by nomadic people in Siberia. This breed was bred so that it could grow into a strong adult and help to provide transport over the vast frozen landscape.

Siberian Huskies are strong, medium sized dogs and were bred because they could cover long distances quickly on very little food. A Husky will have a lovely and gentle nature and will become an important part of your family as they are very loyal to their owners.

These dogs beautiful and outgoing and will become fantastic companions. A Husky has the ability to charm anyone and hold the hearts of many more. They are usually excellent at sledding, running, agility and obedience. However, you will find that your Husky puppy can have some difficult behaviours that will require taming and firm ownership. You can check our dog training guides for a bit of an extra help.

Huskies come in many colours ranging from pure white, red, sable and black. They have fluffy coats which need to be brushed regularly, so if you do not like dog hair then do not get a Husky. These dogs have extra fur due to their origin so they could survive cold climates and therefore they do shed quite a bit of hair all year round, particularly in Spring.

Siberian Huskies will also have a lot of different eye colours, that can range from a coppery brown to icy blue and it is not that uncommon for a husky puppy to have bi-colour which is one blue and one brown eye.
