How to Stop Bad Dog Habits | Dogs and Puppies
Training a dog to behave himself in certain situations is very important. It can sometimes be a pain if your dog’s bad habits manifest when you are trying to eat, especially if it is in front of guests. It is up to the owner to ensure dog training is used to stop this kind of behaviour. When training a dog to behave properly you will need to be persistent. Dog’s Bad Habits
When you sit down at the dining table to eat, make sure someone at the table has a water bottle that squirts. You will need this to alter the dog’s bad habits.
When a dog begins to bark he is looking for attention with goal of getting at your food. The best thing for you to do in this situation is not to pander to it at all. Do not react. Take the water bottle and squirt some water at the dog’s ears (but not in), but make sure that the dog does not see you doing this.
Maintain training a dog with this technique, always ensuring that the bottle remains hidden. You must not allow the dog to see that it is you that is spraying.
The dog will not enjoy being squirted at all and it should make him stop his bad behaviour. The hope is that your dog training will make the dog associate barking with the water squirt. This should result in him not barking at the table and getting rid of a dog’s bad habits.
