    80 years of Guide Dogs

    Guide Dogs is going to celebrate its 80th birthday together with Paws and partnerships by holding a fun day on Saturday, 3rd September in Wokingham. 

    The fun day will start at 11am and will finish at 5pm. The entry fee is £5 per car or £1.50 per person. The centre has been holding the fun day at Folly Court in the town however, this year celebration has been moved to its Wokingham district centre in Barkham Road as there are going to be more events.

    There are going to be many new events as well as the traditional ones, such as: fun dog show will hold a popular dog show, the Rooky Racers Flyball team will be making an appearance with dogs zipping up and down the field over hurdles to catch a tennis ball. Wokingham firefighters will also be showing how they respond to a traffic accident. There is also going to be Antiques Roadshow-style valuations courtesy of the prestigious Bourne End auction house and a chance to pet an owl and many more. All the visitors are encouraged to bring their dogs with them in order to participate in the pedigree and companion dog show and to join the sponsored Go Walkies stroll which will set off from the centre at around 2.30pm.
