An owner of little shih-tzu puppy fought off bull mastiff attack on her dog. The incident happened in Bronte Crescent, Llanrumney, Cardiff.

The owner of Ellie-Boo was taking her shih-tzu on its morning walk when suddenly the woman spotted a Bull Mastiff coming up to her from the other side of the road. The 60-year-old woman suffering from arthritis could not run away so she just stood up as high as she could and shouted the Bull Mastiff to go. Unfortunately the dog pushed the woman to the ground and went for her shih-tzu dog. The woman tried to hit the Bull Mastiff with her walking stick but it just broke into three pieces. Then she finally spotted a choke-chain on the dog so she grabbed the chain and kept pulling until it left the shih-tzu alone.

The shih-tzu dog needed to have some stitches put on and the owner of Bull Mastiff has been given a summons to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on November 25 for not having a dangerous dog under proper control in a public place.
