Dog Rescued From The Sea
A dog was rescued by lifeboat near North Shields after chasing a ball hundreds of yards from the shore.
Oscar was playing with its owners on the beach near the Low Lights car park, North Shields. An innocent fetching went out of control and Oscar’s owners became concerned when they saw their dog swimming more than 300 yards from the shore into the mouth of the River Tyne. They were afraid that the dog would get too tired to make it way back to the shore. Pet’s owners called the Tynemouth RNLI volunteer lifeboat immediately and the crew took the dog on board and returned it to land.
The dog was fine and apparently was not conscious of the seriousness of the situation.
