Melbourne Police, Australia, is investigating an animal cruelty case after a man found a dog’s genitals in his letterbox.

The incident was reported to the police after the man found the dog testicles and scrotum in two plastic bags when he went to collect mail outside his house last month, according to news.ninemsn.com.au. The package did not contain any message and it is uncertain whether the homeowner was the intended target.

The veterinary examination revealed that the testicles had not been removed as part of a proper veterinary procedure and so the incident is treated as a case of an animal cruelty. According to the vets, the dog would have to deal with a huge amount of blood loss and risk of infection, probably the dog would not have survived.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
