Dog used as a weapon
A 1-year-old cross-breed Bull Terrier dog was seized by police after reports that its owner was using it as a weapon.
Police said the one-year-old cross- breed bull terrier had been used to intimidate officers and council workers investigating antisocial behaviour at a home in Whitehawk, Brighton. Lady, a cross between a Labrador and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was tracked down by the officers early on last Thursday. The owner is said to have used the dog as a weapon and a inimidated people.
The animal was seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act and taken to the Sussex Police kennels overnight. Brighton and Hove City Council said it receives between 100 and 150 complaints every year about dangerous dogs. Magistrates will decide on the fate of the dog.
