Incredible escape for dog in tour de France

NewsWorld Dog NewsMonday 01 July 2013
Video footage has emerged of a dog getting caught up in the annual Tour De France race and making a miraculous escape while his owner is watching and trying to help from the sidelines.
The race was progressing well though the French island of Corsica when all of sudden a dog off his owner’s lead wandered onto the race course. The dog then went to the other side of the road. All would appear to be well as both owner and dog were out of the road and the route of the cyclists however the owner then tried to call it back at which point both somehow ended up in the middle of the road.
The world’s most famous bike race does not take prisoners especially with some riders in the race hitting speeds of 60mph. The inevitable was surely about to happen however due to good fortune both owner and dog managed to escape unharmed, at least judging from the video.
Social media users blasted the owners behaviour for first of all having the dog off the lead and secondly for trying to grab it in such a dangerous position that could have endangered the lives of many cyclists.
This story emerged just 24 hours after a bus blocked te finish line and caused a huge crash at the closing stage of the race when the vehicle was trapped.
It is not the first time a dog has been involved in a collision.
    This crashed happened in 2007:
