Luton Security Dogs
G4S Security canine division is based at Home Farm on the Luton Hoo estate where the dogs live while completing their intensive training programme to turn into top security dogs.
English Springer Spaniels, Labradors and German Shepherds live together and go through about 3-months training at the centre and 2-weeks training with its new handler. The special canine division is formed by dogs that are trained to search for narcotics, identifying explosives or human detection. Many of the canines have been involved in high-profile events and emergency actions with the police.
The Luton Hoo estate was chosen by G4S as its location means the dogs can be trained in both urban and rural areas. Once the dogs reach their retirement age they are either rehomed or stay living with their handler as a pet.
If you have a dog of Labrador or spaniel variety that you want to rehome, contact the team at firstname.lastname@example.org and they could be trained as the next top security dog.
