According to Northeastern Regional Police reports, a man called police twice on 13th April this year, once to report a wolf had attacked his miniature Australian shepherd. The second call was to report he had shot the wolf. The man believed that it might have been a wolf-hybrid until the neighbour noticed a collar on the animal. Police discovered that the dead dog belonged to another neighbour who was unaware the family pet was not inside the house. The dog's owner said the dog knew how to open one of the doors if it was not locked and he admitted that he might have forgotten to lock the door the prior evening.
