Not clearing up after your pooch = £80!
Dog owners in Norwich could face £80 fines for failing to clear up after their pets. City Council officials has been dealing with dog fouling for a long time and it has become one of the largest sources of complaints from the public.
Currently, the authorities could only fine people for failing to clear up after their dog with 5£ fee and they could rely mainly on persuasion and education of pet owners. The Norwich population is also dealing with other dog related issues, such as dogs running around off their leads and dogs that being left unattended.
Only blind people with guide dogs and dog owners with physical disabilities would be exempt from punishment under the proposed order, while people paying early would see their fine reduced to £60.
