On-the-spot fines warning for Norwich dog owners
According to Evening News 24, “Norwich City Council’s citywide Fouling of Land by Dogs Order means that fixed penalty notices will be used by authorised council employees, including neighbourhood wardens, who can now fine owners £80 for not cleaning up after their dog. The fine, which could be discounted to £60 for early payment, replaces previous powers which saw persuasion, education and a maximum fine of £5 as the deterrent.”
“People in Norwich have clearly told us over the years that dog fouling is an issue which is of great concern to them,” said Keith Driver, the council’s portfolio holder for environment and neighbourhoods.
