Patch the dog and his owner reunite thanks to Twitter
At 7.00 on Wednesday, Patch boarded a Dublin-bound train at Kilcock station.
Some concerned commuters took the dog to Irish Rail staff. Then the company staff took a picture of the dog and tweeted it for their 18.000 followers. Almost 500 retweets followed, and half an hour later, Deirdre Anglin contacted the company saying that it was her dog.
According to BBC a spokesperson for Iarnród Éireann said: "We are delighted to have played a part in reuniting Deirdre and Patch.
