Scottish dog owners blasted for making their pets obese
Scottish dogs owner are being warned about obesity among pet animals. Cats and dogs in Scottland get more fatty treats than anywhere else in the UK, according to the Daily Record.
The 98% of pet owners in Scotland admit to feed their cats and dogs inappropriate food being the region where more fatty treats are given than anywhere else in the UK. Also cats and rabbits north of the Border are likely to get the excessive amounts of food. PDSA vets are warning that more than 60% of pets regularly tucking in to crisps, cheese and takeaways, over-indulgent owners are fuelling an obesity epidemic. According to the Daily Record, one in three dogs in the UK are now obese, compared with one in four humans.
The PDSA have now launched a Pet Fit Club to help overweight pets slim down.
