Shelter Dog Sunday - Betty
Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Betty, Mastiff puppy with a heart bigger than she will ever be! Betty is now looking for a forever home.
Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats a year, including including Betty, a beautiful young girl looking for a family who has had experience with large breeds.
Breed: Bull Mastiff
Age: 1 year 6 months
Beautiful Betty is a big girl with a big heart. She is a puppy in the body of an adult and loves nothing more than bouncing around and throwing her toys in the air.
Betty is looking for new owners who have had experience with larger bull breeds, as she doesn't realise her own size at times and does have a sensitive side.
Although she loves most other dogs and enjoys playing with them, Betty would prefer to be the only dog in her new home while she focuses on her training.
In the meantime, she should regularly socialise with walking buddies. Betty may be able to live with a confident cat used to large dogs.
Any children should be teenagers who respect her love for cuddles rather than rough play.
If you think Betty would be the perfect addition to your family, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
