Shelter Dog Sunday - Poppy
Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Poppy, a spirited little Jack Russell looking for a forever home.
Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats a year, including including Poppy, an energetic young girl looking for a loving, forever family.
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
Age: 1 year 5 months
Pretty Poppy is an energetic girl who is looking for a home with people who understand terriers and their traits.
She comes across as a feisty, spirited little character, but underneath all that bravado she is actually a bit of a sensitive flower.
She will need owners who can manage both sides of her personality, and be sympathetic to her little quirks.
Poppy will need to live in a rural location without heavy traffic where her new family can carry on training when out on walks constructively.
She is able to live alongside other dogs and cats, as well as children over the age of 13.
Poppy is sure to keep you on your toes and with the right input will blossom into a wonderful companion!
If you would like to meet Poppy, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
