The holiest dog of England
Mandy, the Yorkshire Terrier has received her blessing from the Bishop of Wakefield and has become probably the first (and the only?) dog that has got blessed by a Church of England.
Mandy has been attending church every Sunday for 13 years now together with its owners in St Anne in the Grove, Southowram in Halifax. According to the article from BBC, the bishop had spotted Mandy after he led Evensong at St Thomas the Apostle Church in Claremount, Halifax, to mark its 150th anniversary in February. While some may think a dog in a church is a recipe for noise and disruption, in fact Mandy is impeccably behaved and respectfully quiet during services.
