How to keep your dog fit during the summer?

Articledog health and wellbeingMonday 27 June 2011

Although the high summer temperature do not allow you to spend a lot of time with your dog outside as it might be hazardous for your dog, you shouldn’t forget about exercising daily your dog. Every day exercise, a regular walk and daily dosis of physical activity is crucial to have a good temperament and a good health.

The main problem of dog owners living in towns is the hot concrete or asphalt surfaces which turns to be really unpleasant experience for your dog. Neither a sandy beach with hot sand is the place to walk or play with your dog. Too much outdoor activity might get your dog overheated.

However, remember that the balance is important and you shouldn’t resign outdoor activities. You can for example walk your dog early in the morning or late in the evening when the temperatures are lower. If it’s impossible for you to walk your dog at this time, you can always get a dog walker or a neighbour who helps you out. Always make sure your dog has a plenty of fresh, cool water and has bowls outside and inside the house.
