When you train a puppy it can be a little confusing as to what the best method is. dog training treats make training a dog simpler, but the effects can sometimes be mixed. Using these treats will make your dog love you, but he may not respect your authority. By training without unhealthy food, your dog will be fit and obedient. For tips on how to train a puppy without dog training treats, see below.

By replacing treats with a toy, you will garner a similar positive attitude from your dog. This can also double up as play time with your pet. By behaving enthusiastically with the toy you will get the dog excited to play and train.

Whenever you train a puppy, ensure you do plenty of praising. Pat him on the head whilst saying “good dog”. Praise goes a long way when training a dog without dog training treats. Dogs like to know that they are pleasing their owner.

Introduce a crate when you train a puppy. Most dogs love the security and familiarity that a crate provides. He will go there to sleep. The crate can be used when training a dog on a number of things, other than toilet training. It is important not to use this as a place the dog gets banished to for bad behaviour though, as this will make the dog afraid of that area.

By using the outlined methods above, the need for dog training treats is reduced.
