How to choose the right kennel?

Articlegeneral dog adviceThursday 25 August 2011

Leaving your dog at home might result more difficult than you expect. Although you must leave due to a business travel or simply because of holidays with your family, you must provide your dog with professional care and assistance of experts. Remember that it is not recommended that you leave your dog alone at home for a period longer than few days.

Finding a right boarding kennel is a great solution for anyone who leaves home for a longer period of time. However, before leaving your dog in a boarding service you should first investigate carefully all the facilities. It is recommended you ask your vet, other dog owners, friends or family whether they can advice you any boarding centre. You can also check here whether there are any boarding kennels in your area.

Once you find a cattery, you should then ask whether they have a place available in the dates you are interested in. Plan a visit prior to your travel in order to make sure the facilities are in good conditions and talk to the staff. Make sure you remember to tell the staff about all the requirements (medications, nutrition etc) your dog might need while you are away.
