Articlegeneral dog adviceSaturday 10 May 2014

Definitely, Huskies are a favourite breed for most animal lovers.

The fluffy and unique look of the Husky dog is a draw for many, and they are also known to be fun, friendly and great with kids. However, if you are thinking about buying a Siberian Husky be awware that this should not be a decision taken lightly, as they need quite a bit of dog care in grooming and exercise.

Not knowing how to raise a new dog can result in potential health problems and aggressive behaviour. This guide will show you how to give your huskies the care they deserve so that you and the dog can live happily.

    • Husky puppies are very sociable creatures, so including them in family activities is a great way to keep them happy. They love to be around people because they then feel part of the pack.
    • When you acquire a Husky, you need to know about what and when to feed him. Husky puppies should be fed 3 times a day with high-quality food. Ingredients must not include fillers or by-products. The dog feedings should be reduced to twice a day (morning and night) after the puppy hits 4 months old. Fresh water should be available to your pet at all times.
    • These dogs need to be groomed on a daily basis as they get matted easily. You will have to remove dirt and insects frequently.
    • This breed is primarily a working dog. For this reason, they will need plenty of regular exercise. Daily walks are a necessity so that the dog can use up all his energy healthly.
    • Your Husky will also require certain vaccinations to prevent him from falling victim to nasty diseases. The vet will advise you on what is necessary. Generally, rabies injections should be given before the puppy reaches 6 months of age.
