Metropolitan Police officers who were injured when a dog attacked them in east London earlier this year have returned to work.

The officers had gone to an address in Albert Square, Stratford, in March to make an arrest when they were attacked.

Three officers suffered hand and leg wounds and needed surgery and skin grafts, while two others had minor injuries.

The animal was shot dead by officers from CO19 Specialist Firearms Command.

At the time, witnesses said one officer jumped on the bonnet of a car to kick the dog away while another was left with blood pouring from his hand.
