    Dog chews off its leg

NewsWorld Dog NewsMonday 29 August 2011

Animal Control officers from Kansas City, Missouri (USA), found a dog with its back leg severed and suffering from a terrible pain last week.

The Sharpei and German Shepherd mix were taken immediately to a vet where they had to be given antibiotics. During the surgery on the dog’s leg, the vet was shocked to report that the German Shepherd might have chewed off its own limb. The explanation for this could be the pain from the infected with gangrene leg or possibility of being trapped.

Animal Control officers are now investigating the case. The German Shepherd is stable and expected to make a full recovery.
