Free dog awareness day on Portland

    NewsDog EventsFriday 12 August 2011

All residents from Portland are invited to a free dog awareness day that is going to take place at Southwell Business Park from 11am until 3pm on 29th August (the bank holiday).

The event is aimed to promote responsible dog ownership and is going to be full of activities and fun for children such as a bouncy castle, face painting, colouring competition, raffle, trade stalls and refreshments; there is also going to take place a dog show, displays from Bovington Hounds, dog agility courses and a gun dog display. All the residents can bring their dogs to get free advice and information on training, health tips etc. from dog wardens. They will also have a possibility to have their pets micro-chipped in order to help locate their pooches if they get lost.

The event is being run by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council in partnership with the Portland Gas Trust and the Wild About Portland project. For more information including dog show competition categories and rules call 07966 800822.
