The killing of a dog in Moray is being investigated by police.
The body of the black and white female border collie was discovered in a wooded area near Nether Dallachy, Spey Bay, Fochabers.
Grampian Police said a post-mortem examination showed the dog was "unlawfully killed".
The dog - found at the beginning of February - was believed to have been between two and five years old and had a red collar.
Police have asked anyone with information about the killing or the dog's owner to contact them.
