Liger cubs nursed by a dog

    NewsDog CuriositiesMonday 23 May 2011

Two liger cubs are being nursed by a dog at the Xixiakou zoo in Eastern China as their mother stopped feeding them.

Four cubs were born at the Chinese Zoo in May, however only two of them survived. As their mother stopped feeding them, a canine stepmother was asked to help. The dog who had recently had its own puppies seemed not to have any problem with that.

Ligers are a cross breed between a male lion and a female tiger who are thought to only be born in captivity.
