    Pedigree Dog Health Charity

NewsDog Health and WellbeingTuesday 31 May 2011

Tania Ledger, a dog owner, has launched a charity Cavalier Matters, raising awareness of pedigree dog health concerns. The charity is currently focusing mainly on Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, however in the long term it hopes to extend to other breeds affected by genetic health problems as well.

Tania decided to set up the charity together with her husband, Graham, after two of their three Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs were diagnosed with Syringomyelia. This incurable neurological condition and lack of information about it made Tania to launch a charity where all the owners could deal with the genetic health issues of their dogs. The organization will enable people to find out more about their dog’s lives and will help them to improve the quality of life of their pets by providing them appropriate care and veterinary treatments. It is also going to raise awareness through the public in general, encouraging people to buy puppies from a breeder with necessary health checks on the bitch and stud dog.
