Shelter Dog Sunday - Georgie Porgy

Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Georgie Porgy, a stunning Staffie who is finding kennel life hard; however he will bring tons of happiness to his forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Georgie Porgy, a young boy in need of a well deserved forever family.

    Name: Georgie Porgy

    Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier

    Sex: Male

    Age: 2 years 7 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 361355

Our adorable Georgie has a face you can’t help but fall in love with.

Georgie arrived at Battersea with no history, and understandably has been a little shell shocked in this busy London environment.

However, underneath the shy exterior is such a sweet chap that we have all grown to completely adore.

It seems that Georgie doesn't really know what to do around other dogs. He clearly wants to meet and interact. It would be great if he could find some playful friends to encourage playful behaviour instead of his amorous side.

He would prefer to live away from the inner city, as he prefers the calm and quiet.

He would also prefer to be the only dog in the household but could live with a cat.

To meet Georgie Porgy, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
