    Shelter Dog Sunday - Hector

NewsShelter Dog SundayThursday 06 April 2017

Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Hector, a goofy Lurcher ready to crash on the sofa of a forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of  but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Hector, a sensitive lad looking for a forever loving family.

    Name: Hector

    Breed: Lurcher

    Sex: Male

    Age: 2 years 3 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 355362

Hector is a sensitive boy with a goofy side that is just waiting to burst out. He can be quite shy of new people, but once he has made friends he is a sweet and gentle chap.

His favourite things to do are relaxing in his crate, lounging on the sofa or having the occasional zoom around an open space to stretch his long legs.

Hector enjoys social outings with like-minded doggy friends, and could potentially share his home with another dog of a similar size.

A quiet location would suit Hector best, and a private garden is essential.

He will also need an adults-only home with owners who have some experience with sighthounds and are willing to build his confidence around new people.

To meet Hector, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
