    Shelter Dog Sunday - Louie

Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Louie, an active and cheerful lad who will gladly play tug-of-war with a forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of  but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Louie, an American Bulldog with a heart as big as his breed that is now looking for a forever loving family.

    Name: Louie

    Breed: American Bulldog

    Sex: Male

    Age: 7 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 356142

Meet Louie – a bouncy youngster looking for an equally bouncy, active home.

Louie is wonderfully friendly with everyone he meets, and loves a game of tug of war.

He is looking for a family who have experience with large breeds and are willing to put in the time to make sure he reaches his full potential.

Louie would benefit from having a home with a private garden for burn offs and training without distractions.

He will make a wonderful family pet, particularly for older children who are used to large dogs.

Louie would also enjoy living alongside another tolerant dog who will teach him good manners.

To meet Louie, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.

If you want to adopt a rescue dog like Louie, please check out our shelter directory for rescues near you!
