    Shelter Dog Sunday - Marshall

    NewsFriday 26 September 2014

Every Sunday we are running a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Marshall, a soppy Great Dane cross who currently resides at Battersea Dogs Home.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Marshall - who is our featured shelter dog this week!

Marshall, who is just under five years old, is a Great Dane cross and all-round absolutely gorgeous boy. A typical 'gentle giant', Marshall has a big soppy personality and can be clumsy at times, although that definately just adds to the charm of this colossol canine.

Despite his size, Marshall has a bit of an anxious side so his new home would have to be in a semi-rural or country location, with access to a garden that he can potter about in!

Like many large breeds, Marshall also suffers from a hip condition but he doesn't let it get him down!

Marshall is a big sop and can get along with pretty much anyone! He's happy around other dogs and might even be able to live with one, as well as older children who know how to behave responsibly around dogs. He might even be able to live with a cat, depending on the personality of his new feline housemate.

This handsome boy is much-loved at the shelter and will make his new family smile everyday!

If you think you could provide the home Marshall needs, then don't hesitate to get in touch with Battersea and let them know you're interested. You can email them at [email protected] or call them directly on 0843 509 444  - his reference number is 307216.
