    Shelter Dog Sunday - Mickey

Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Mickey, an active young Beagle with lots of energy looking for a loving family to guide him through adulthood and beyond!

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of  Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats a year, including Mickey, who finds kennel life extremely stressful and is desperately in need of a safe place to call a loving, forever home.

    Name: Mickey

    Breed: Beagle

    Sex: Male

    Age: 1 year 2 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 352919

Mickey is a full-on Beagle in search of an active home.

Being no more than a youngster, our cheeky friend needs someone who can train him. This means constructive games, socialising, new tricks, and plenty of exercise – in other words: Mickey is not for the faint hearted.

Physical and mental stimulation is a must, but after a long day of activities he will happily climb up on the couch and receive a bundle of cuddles.

Our young guy is looking for a home away from the city with a spacious garden to let off steam.

Being such a high-speed fella, Mickey would benefit from being the only dog in the house.

He is finding kennel life extremely stressful and is desperately in need of a safe place to put down roots.

Once trained, Mickey will no doubt grow into the perfect adult Beagle. All he needs is a bit of guidance.

If you would like to meet Mickey, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
