Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Joey, a stunning Dogue de Bordeaux who has everything to bring tons of happiness to his forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Reggie, a gentle giant in search of a loving forever family.

    Name: Reggie

    Breed: Dogue de Bordeaux

    Sex: Male

    Age: 6 years 1 month

    Centre: London

    Reference: 359046

Nothing sums up handsome Reggie better than “gentle giant”.

He is a soppy boy with a heart of gold who at times needs reassurance from his friends – especially if he spots a cat. It may surprise people to hear the furry felines are a little scary to Reg!

Reggie loves to potter around and will need a private garden where he can get some fresh air and stretch his legs when he pleases.

He can happily live with another dog and older children who are used to large dogs.

To meet Reggie, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.

If you want to adopt a rescue dog like Reggie, please check out our shelter directory for rescues near you!
