    Shelter Dog Sunday - Rex

NewsShelter Dog SundayFriday 10 March 2017

Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Rex, a tummy rubs lover looking for a forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of  but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Rex, a gentleman with a big heart looking for a loving, forever home.

    Name: Rex

    Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier

    Sex: Male

    Age: 8 years 7 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 355684

Lovely Rex is an older boy who absolutely adores tummy rubs.

He also has a fondness for tasty treats which has led him to becoming slightly overweight. Rex is looking for a caring family who will help him stick to his diet plan in his new home.

Rex is very sweet and would make a great friend for sensible children over the age of eight who can recognise when he wants a tummy rub and when he wants a bit more space.

While he may be able to live with a confident cat, it’s best Rex is the only dog in the home and instead has friendly walking buddies.

A garden is also important to Rex so he has space to run around and burn a few extra calories.

To meet Rex, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
