Shelter Dog Sunday - Rhubarb and Custard

Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on a couple: Rhubard and Custard, two beautiful Lurchers who will be more than happy to move in with a forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Rhubarb and Custard, a sweet couple of friends with a heart of gold now looking for a forever loving family.

    Name: Rhubarb & Custard

    Breed: Lurcher

    Sex: Male

    Age: 0 years 10 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 363075 & 363076

Meet this delicious dish: Rhubarb and Custard! These two young boys came to us as strays but have shown to be a lovely pair in all aspects of their stay with us!

They are very similar but do have their own personalities that new owners would have to learn and understand.

Although Rhubarb is initially the most confident he is a very nervous soul and needs a gentle hand. Custard is more independent but the more confident of the two around dogs and people!

We feel these two could live with another dog as long as they were calm and respectful and would help them gain confidence in the world!

They are looking for a new family that would show them that life isn't scary and give them endless cuddles for the rest of their days!

If these two sound like the pair for you then please get in touch with our rehoming team!

To meet Rhubarb & Custard, please contact Battersea’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
