    Shelter Dog Sunday - Roxy

Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Roxy, a gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux looking for a home to call her own.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of  but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats a year, including Roxy, a giant but sweet natured lady looking for a loving, forever home.

    Name: Roxy

    Breed: Dogue de Bordeaux

    Sex: Female

    Age: 1 years 7 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 353950

Meet our gorgeous gentle giant Roxy. This loveable lump is a well-mannered lady who enjoys the company of people and other dogs. She loves a cuddle!

Roxy can occasionally forget her size, so a mature family who have had experience with large breeds before would be an ideal match.

She would very much enjoy sharing her new home with a playful male dog of a similar size, and having a private garden for them to run around in. Roxy would however prefer not to live with a cat or young children.

To meet Roxy, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.

If you want to adopt a rescue dog like Roxy, please check out our shelter directory for rescues near you!
