Every Sunday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Ruby, a stunning Staffie who is willing to share her heart with a forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Ruby, a true gem who deserves to spend her senior years surrounded by a loving family.

    Name: Ruby

    Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier

    Sex: Female

    Age: 10 years 6 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 359474

Ruby is a gem. While shy to start with, she transforms into a very affectionate lady once she gets to know someone.

She is longing for a comfortable retirement home with a family who will respect her quiet nature and provide her with a tranquil home.

Ruby does have some mobility problems, so is in need of a home without lots of stairs and young children who will want to play rough and tumble games.

A private garden will be useful for regular light exercise.

To meet Ruby, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.

If you want to adopt a rescue dog like Ruby, please check out our shelter directory for rescues near you!
