    Shelter Dog Wednesday - Nelly

Every Wednesday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Nelly, ready to find a forever family to cuddle with on a sofa.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Nelly, a fun young girl looking for a loving, forever family.

    Name: Nelly

    Breed: Mongrel

    Sex: Female

    Age: 2 years

    Centre: London

    Reference: 359590

Nelly is a fun young girl who loves to meet new people. She also likes to keep busy and will appreciate having a selection of toys to play with in her new home.

Her new family should have experience with dogs and be willing to work on Nelly’s focus, especially when out and about.

Nelly has a nice history of living with children and could share a home once again with older kids who have a gentle approach.

She would benefit from living with a group of other dogs and be happiest in a quiet location.

To meet Nelly, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.

If you want to adopt a rescue dog like Nelly, please check out our shelter directory for rescues near you!
