    Shelter Dog Wednesday - Parker

NewsShelter Dog WednesdayTuesday 13 March 2018

Every Wednesday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Parker, a stunning Whippet who is willing to share his heart with a forever family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Parker, a lively youngster ready for lots of games at a loving home he can call his own.

    Name: Parker

    Breed: Whippet

    Sex: Male

    Age: 0 years 9 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 361709

Pretty boy Parker is a joy to be around and loves attention from both dogs and his humans.

A little timid initially, once he has warmed up to you, you'll wonder how you ever lived without him - he is a bouncy, juvenile 9-month-old Whippet who is surprisingly small for a sighthound cross!

He can lose his head a little at times when he gets over-excited, but he can also settle nicely with a chew or food item.

New owners ideally would have experience with overexcited young dogs and be prepared to help mould him into a better mannered young gentleman around his people and food.

    Parker cannot live with cats.
