    Shelter Dog Wednesday - Poppy

NewsShelter Dog WednesdayTuesday 20 February 2018

Every Wednesday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Poppy, a clever young girl who deserves to grow up in with a loving family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Poppy, an active girl looking for a loving, forever family.

    Name: Poppy

    Breed: Mongrel

    Sex: Female

    Age: 1 years 4 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 360578

Meet our little bundle of energy Poppy! This young terrier cross certainly has lots of get up and go and is looking for owners that can keep up with her!

Poppy is such a fun and clever girl that responds extremely well to training so would really blossom in a home that could keep her busy with teaching her lots of new tricks and skills.

Poppy is currently undergoing some training here at Battersea to learn how to mix with other dogs calmly as she is a bit of whirlwind at the moment and can become easily overstimulated with them. Luckily, she loves her food, so her training is going in the right direction.

Any potential owners for Poppy will need to live in a quiet 'lower dog populated' area and be willing to continue the training we have put in place for her here.

To meet Poppy, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.
