Every Wednesday we run a special feature on a rescue dog looking for a loving home. This week, the spotlight is on Venus, a friendly Greyhound who dreams of curling up in a sofa with her loving family.

Battersea and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Venus, a sweet girl looking for a loving, forever family.

    Name: Venus

    Breed: Greyhound

    Sex: Female

    Age: 4 years 0 months

    Centre: London

    Reference: 357969

Lovely Venus is looking for her forever home. Venus is a sweet girl who enjoys being stroked and has a sweet sensitive side to her.

Venus is friendly with dogs and people alike and will make a welcome addition to a household. She is very bright and loving to everyone she meets.

As an ex-racing greyhound, Venus has a high chase drive so is looking for a home that can provide her with her own private green space to stretch her legs off- lead.

She would prefer to live with older children and no cats.

To meet Venus, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s London centre on 0843 509 4444.

If you want to adopt a rescue dog like Venus, please check out our shelter directory for rescues near you!
